Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale

Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale

Sale Overview

This July, the Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale will be highlighted by internationally recognised contemporary artists such as David Hockney, Laura Owens and Banksy. Discover some colourful works by Olafur Eliasson, Katharina Grosse, Harold Ancart and Etel Adnan – perfect for the summer.

In addition to a strong contingent of Post-War artists including Lucian Freud, Frank Auerbach, Leon Kossoff and Günther Förg we will also offer exciting emerging names such as Salman Toor, Claire Tabouret, Jammie Holmes and Issy Wood.

As part of Christie’s ongoing partnership with amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, kicking off the sale is a selection of works generously donated by contemporary artists such as Jenna Gribbon, Christina Quarles, Eleanor Swordy and Jonathan Chapline amongst others. Proceeds will benefit amfAR and its research efforts to develop effective treatments for COVID-19.

We are also thrilled to present a group donated to benefit The Walk, an initiative of UK based charity Good Chance Theatre, with works by Antony Gormley, Wilhelm Sasnal, Shirin Neshat and others.

Christie’s and amfAR continue partnership to raise critical funds for COVID-19 research
